Managing Principal
Stephen Murphy serves as the Managing Principal of Corporate Finance working with MGS clients in optimizing their property and business needs in the US and the UK. Stephen's expertise lies in tax planning and identifying real estate investment opportunities.
Stephen began his career as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young, Dublin, Ireland. He specialized in Corporate Finance and Corporate Recovery, focusing on projects in the public and private sector. He worked on public and private partnerships in the areas of development, infrastructure and transportation projects with the Department of the Marine, Department of Finance and the EU.
He became a Partner with Baker Tilly Ireland after studying at Harvard University. He was instrumental in the development of the Corporate Finance Division and in particular specialized in Property Development, Financing and the Media and Entertainment business both domestically and Internationally. Baker Tilly is one of the top ten practices and is based in London.
Through his work in the Media and Entertainment business, he accepted the position with Unicorn Entertainment – Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance, an International Entertainment company based in London, England with operations in Europe the US and China. The position involved managing revenue and operations in excess of $115 million from touring a number of shows around the world and The Venetian (Las Vegas, Nevada). Stephen based himself between Los Angeles, Las Vegas and London developing key Casino and Entertainment related projects in addition to dealing with the entertainment companies in Hollywood and the Casino Operators in Vegas.
